About Us

Founded in 1998, Intrepid Financial Planning Group is a fee-based only registered investment advisor (RIA) located in Carmel, Indiana.  Our family-based RIA provides discretionary investment advisory services.

Our investment team creates customized portfolios for each client utilizing a mix of individual stocks & bonds, exchange traded funds, and mutual funds.  Portfolios are monitored and rebalanced as needed in order to reflect each client's overall investment objectives.

Our office in Carmel, Indiana combines expertise with a personal touch, always focused on understanding your goals and providing the support you need.  

Namesake

Often asked, Intrepid Financial Planning Group, LLC was not named after the car. Rather, our company was named after the aircraft carrier, USS Intrepid. Our founder, Rich Locke, served on the ship for 4 years while in the United States Navy. The ship was commissioned in 1943 and served our country until 1974. The USS Intrepid now serves as a historic museum in New York Harbor. 

Rich was a former practicing CPA who started providing advisory and planning services to clients in 1988. Intrepid Financial was formed in 1998 and continues to operate with Mr. Locke's vision, direction, and investment philosophy that he instilled within the company.
